Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended the George Zajfen Tennis Tournament on Saturday, October 18, 2025, in Los Angeles, showing their unwavering support for one of the Duchess of Sussex’s closest friends, Kelly McKee Zajfen. The event, held at the Los Angeles Tennis Club, was organized in memory of George Zajfen, Kelly’s late son who tragically passed away in 2022 at the age of nine due to COVID-19 and viral meningitis. The tournament raised funds for the Alliance for Children’s Rights, an organization that provides vital legal services, housing, education, and support for vulnerable children.

Meghan appeared visibly emotional during the event as Kelly addressed the crowd, speaking about the loss of her son. A fan shared a video on Instagram capturing the moment, with Meghan wiping away tears as she listened. Dressed in a sleeveless white mid-length dress, the Duchess stood next to Prince Harry, who wore a white polo shirt and black slacks. The couple’s support for Kelly and the cause was evident, as Meghan later shared a series of photos and videos from the event on her Instagram Stories, including moments of her hugging Kelly and walking side by side with her. Meghan also posted a video of Kelly’s daughter, Lily, running onto the court to join her parents, followed by a sweet shot of Prince Harry hugging Lily with the caption, “Our other favorite Lily,” a likely reference to their own daughter, Lilibet.

Kelly, who co-founded the Alliance of Moms, expressed her gratitude and appreciation for Meghan and Harry’s continued support on her own Instagram. She shared several photos of the royal couple at the event and reflected on the day’s significance. “The George Zajfen Tennis Tournament was nothing short of extraordinary,” she wrote. “Our incredible community showed up with so much love, heart, and spirit for @allianceforchildrensrights and all in honor of our beautiful boy.” Kelly also revealed that the event raised a record-breaking $200,000, with funds supporting the important work of the Alliance.
In her post, Kelly also thanked sponsors, including Ziffren Brittenham and Meghan and Harry’s Archewell Foundation, which has supported the tournament for two consecutive years. She expressed deep appreciation for the couple’s dedication to the cause, saying, “Meg & H, you continue to amaze me with your commitment to community and your fierce loyalty and love in friendship. We are so grateful you chose to support The Alliance again this year.” Kelly concluded her heartfelt message by expressing gratitude for Meghan and Harry’s friendship, writing, “Thank you for holding Georgie in your hearts and helping us carry his light forward. We love you.”
In a previous Instagram Q&A session in September, Kelly had shared insights into her long-standing friendship with Meghan. She revealed that they had known each other for nearly 20 years, with Meghan even attending Kelly’s wedding 15 years ago. Kelly described Meghan as “the most amazing, nurturing, fun, loving human,” and emphasized how supportive Meghan had been, especially following the heartbreaking loss of her son. “She’s been by my side, especially since Georgie died, and I cherish our friendship very much,” Kelly said.

The event marked a poignant moment for both Meghan and Harry as they supported their dear friend in honoring the memory of her son, while also raising crucial funds to continue the work of the Alliance for Children’s Rights. The heartfelt exchanges at the tournament underscored the importance of friendship, community, and continued efforts to support vulnerable children, marking another chapter in Meghan and Harry’s philanthropic journey.
