Meghan Markle’s As ever brand has been deeply influenced by her personal life and the symbols that resonate with her family, as showcased in a recent Instagram post shared on September 24. The post featured Meghan with her two beloved dogs, Pula, a black lab, and Mia, a beagle, gazing out at their scenic backyard in Montecito, California. The serene image was accompanied by the caption, “Crisp air, blue skies, and the sweetest moments 🍃,” capturing the peaceful essence of her life in California.

One particularly striking feature of the backyard is the pair of palm trees that meet at their base, which hold special meaning for Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry. In a 2022 interview with The Cut, Meghan recalled how the trees first caught Harry’s attention during their initial tour of the house. “One of the first things my husband saw when we walked around the house was those two palm trees,” she explained. “See how they’re connected at the bottom? He goes, ‘My love, it’s us.'” This moment has become a significant symbol for the couple, with Meghan fondly adding that every day, their son, Prince Archie, now 6, greets the trees by saying, “Hi, Momma. Hi, Papa.”

Incorporating this symbol into her brand, Meghan chose a palm tree as the centerpiece of the As ever logo. The tree is flanked by two hummingbirds, which also hold a personal connection to Harry. In his 2023 memoir, Spare, Harry shared a poignant moment when he encountered a hummingbird in his home following the death of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. He reflected on how some cultures view hummingbirds as symbols of spirits, with the Aztecs considering them reincarnated warriors. This connection further deepens the symbolism of the hummingbirds in the As ever logo.
This recent Instagram post isn’t the first time Mia has joined Meghan for a photoshoot. In March, the beagle made a surprise appearance during the As ever brand’s first launch, crashing a backyard photoshoot. Meghan shared a behind-the-scenes shot of Mia, affectionately known as “Mamma Mia,” as she joined her in showcasing the brand’s products.

Mia, who was adopted by Meghan and Harry in 2022, has a heartwarming backstory. She was rescued from a breeding and research lab in Virginia by the Beagle Freedom Project, an organization Meghan personally reached out to in hopes of adopting an older dog. “The duchess is holding Mia and was like, ‘We’re adopting her,'” shared Shannon Keith, a volunteer with the organization. “She was like, ‘No, we don’t want a Christmas puppy… we want ones we can help who are older.'” Mia became the couple’s third dog, joining Pula and their previous rescue beagle, Guy, who sadly passed away in January 2025.

Through these meaningful moments and symbols, Meghan continues to weave personal connections into her brand, creating a space that celebrates not just the products but the values and family ties that matter most to her.
