First lady Melania Trump lamented that Charlie Kirk’s young son and daughter will grow up without their father in an emotional social media post Wednesday following the conservative activist’s shocking assassination.
“Charlie’s children will be raised with stories instead of memories, photographs instead of laughter, and silence where their father’s voice should have echoed,” the first lady wrote on X.
“Charlie Kirk’s life should serve as a symbolic reminder that compassionate awareness elevates family, love, and country.”

Kirk, 31, was the founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, an organization closely aligned with President Trump’s “Make America Great Again” movement.
He was shot in the neck at Utah Valley University earlier on Wednesday, while hosting the kickoff event for his “American Comeback Tour” of campus speaking engagements.
The shooter remains at large.
Kirk was the father of two children, a boy who turned 1 in May, and a girl who turned 3 in August.
His wife, Erika Frantzve, frequently posted photographs on social media of Kirk spending time with his children.
Frantzve, a model, ministry leader, former NCAA women’s basketball player and winner of the 2012 Miss Arizona beauty pageant, married Kirk in 2021.
President Trump said Kirk was “loved and admired by ALL,” in a Truth Social post announcing his death.
“Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family,” the president said.
Kirk loved his family “more than anything in the world,” the president later added in a video addressing the MAGA influencer’s slaying.
