Johnson tried to argue that they can’t share the super-secret Republican healthcare plan because…his own members will leak it to the media.“Yeah, I don’t know what to say about that. I mean, that’s absurd. Obviously, we’re not going to be on a conference call explaining all of our plans and strategies for health care reform because they’re leaked in real time. Literally, when I have a conference call with all my members, it’s tweeted out by journalists. They’re supposed to be private, but they’re not. And so Marjorie knows that,” whined Johnson.“She knows she can come into my office any day at any hour and I’ll lay out everything for her. The committees of jurisdiction, the people who specialize in all of this, have been working on this around the clock for a long time. In fact, we published 60 or 70 pages of health care reform ideas in 2019 when I was the chair of the Republican Study Committee, the largest caucus in Congress.”So…no progress made in SIX years, Mike? This is patently absurd. He’s not sharing the plan because he doesn’t have one!The fact of the matter is that the Republican Party has had over a DECADE to come up with a plan to replace Obamacare and solve the healthcare crisis in America, and they haven’t, because they don’t care!Instead of offering any real solutions, Mike Johnson and Republicans are going to let millions of Americans go hungry AND suffer thousands of dollars in skyrocketing healthcare premiums because all they care about is maintaining their grip on power and entertaining the petty whims of a would-be tyrant.

SNAP benefits are going to run out, and millions of Americans are needlessly going to go hungry because the President of the United States won’t lift a finger to help them. “The American people are already suffering, and the suffering is going to get a lot worse, not because the President of the United States has failed to make the shutdown painless,” said Vice President JD Vance on October 30th, refusing to acknowledge that it’s his own administration responsible for that suffering.
The truth is that not only has Donald Trump done NOTHING to alleviate to suffering of the American people, he is deliberately (and illegally, we might add) increasing the suffering of poor Americans by refusing to release the $5 billion in emergency funding already appropriated for SNAP benefits.

“This is illegal what they’re doing. We have appropriated money. It’s over $5 billion into a contingency fund that until last week on the USDA website itself, it said that this money could be used during a government shutdown. And we know they also have the authority to also move other money around and pay November SNAP benefits!” says Democratic Rep. Angie Craig.
She went on to say, “the bottom line is the administration is choosing not to pay 440,000 Minnesotans their SNAP benefits in November. They’re choosing not to pay 16 million children who have access to SNAP benefits. They are choosing to do this. It’s illegal, it’s immoral, and it’s probably one of the most cruel things we’ve seen out of this administration so far.”
One in eight Americans use the program to feed themselves and their families. The Trump team argues that “contingency funds are not legally available to cover regular benefits,” but that’s simply not true.
