The Eagles have had some impressive head coaches to lead the franchise throughout its history, but apparently, Nick Sirianni may be technically the best.
After the Eagles’ victory over the Buccaneers this past Sunday, Sirianni recorded his third 4-0 start in franchise history, the most by an Eagles head coach, according to Jeff Skversky of CBS Sports.
Sirianni has continued to make his mark on the Eagles franchise and is shaping up to be the most decorated coach by the time his tenure is complete in Philly. Through 72 career games, Sirianni owns a record of 52-20, with his .722 winning percentage the highest in franchise history (outside of interim coaches Pat Shurmur, Fred Bruney, and Bo McMillin).
The Eagles continue to see their head coach make history
Sirianni currently ranks fourth in wins as an Eagles head coach, trailing Andy Reid (130), Greasy Neale (63), and Dick Vermeil (54). With Sirianni signing a new contract extension keeping him in Philadelphia for the foreseeable future, the 44-year-old Mount Union alum should be able to surpass Vermeil and possibly Neale by the end of the season. It’s also worth noting Sirianni’s six postseason wins are second only to Reid’s 10 (through his 14 seasons at the helm).
With all the accolades and awards, Sirianni and company remain focused on the one true goal: raising the Lombardi trophy. With one championship already earned and a culture rebranded and enhanced during the Doug Pederson era, the Eagles under Sirianni have continued to dominate the NFL, dating back to the 2024 season.

Currently, despite some offensive struggles, Sirianni has the Eagles on a 10-game winning streak dating back to Week 17 of the 2024 season. Going into Week 5, the Eagles are scheduled to take on the Denver Broncos, who are back in the win column after a convincing victory over the Joe Burrow-less Bengals. The Eagles return home to Lincoln Financial Field, hosting Denver at 1:00 pm EST this Sunday, looking to improve to 5-0.

This simple stat proves that Nick Sirianni has surpassed Sean McVay
When ranking NFL coaches, Sean McVay has been on a pedestal, while Nick Siranni has scratched and clawed for respect. Sunday proves Sirianni is now above McVay.
ByBrandon Thornton|Sep 24, 2025

There has always been a hierarchy of NFL coaches, and lately, Andy Reid has been universally regarded as the best coach in the league for his accomplishments with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Right below him is just about always Sean McVay of the Los Angeles Rams, mainly for being what many call an offensive genius. After that, it tends to be more of that archetype, and Nick Sirianni does not usually get enough love, despite all he’s done for the Philadelphia Eagles.
It’s honestly baffling that someone with Sirianni’s resume, which includes two Super Bowl trips with one win, is usually on the outside looking in on these conversations, not to mention a .706 winning percentage. That’s the world we find ourselves in, though.
After Sunday, there should be no doubt anymore that Sirianni has elevated above McVay
Sure, Sirianni may not call plays like McVay; however, he makes up for it by being a leader of men, a CEO-type, something he does pretty well considering all the success his Eagles have had since he took over for Doug Pederson in 2021.
Then there’s this stat that makes it pretty much impossible to dispute.
For those keeping score at home Sean McVay is now 0-4 against Nick Sirianni. Just so we’re clear. pic.twitter.com/ScyXbfMFJk— Brandon Thornton (@BThornton_33) September 21, 2025
How do you even combat that?
As far as postseason success, both have appeared in two Super Bowls, and both have records of 1-1. Sirianni is 4-0 against McVay.
As alluded to before, one is an offensive mastermind and has proven to be a master of generalship. Sirianni is 4-0 against McVay.
They’ve both also met in the postseason. Sirianni’s Eagles got the win over McVay’s Rams in the snow on their way to their Super Bowl championship… because Sirianni is 4-0 against McVay.
See the pattern?
In today’s fantasy football-obsessed culture, stats have been more in the forefront than ever. Having said that, wins and losses are pretty much the only stat you can have for coaches, or at the very least the ones that have the most relevance, and Sirianni has four over McVay to zero on the other side.

Many may not like it, or even want to hear it, but it’s just the truth, though. After Sunday, when the Philadelphia Eagles essentially spotted the Los Angeles Rams a free half of football, Sirianni got one over on McVay anyway, again. Why? Nick Sirianni is above Sean McVay. That’s why.
