If you’re a comedian, being funny is kind of your thing. And while some might save their best lines for the stage, Adam Sandler seems to carry his humor wherever he goes.
At 59, the actor, comedian, screenwriter, and producer gave fans a laugh when someone casually asked, “What’s going on?” as he crossed a hotel sidewalk in a blue-and-white shirt and relaxed red pants.
Without missing a beat, Sandler deadpanned, “Oh, fat as s—t.” The crowd waiting for autographs erupted in laughter, caught off guard by the quick one-liner.

He’s such a riot. It’s easy to imagine Sandler had just come from dinner with longtime friends Kevin James and Rob Schneider, seen in the background. They’re two of the many comedians who’ve joined him onstage throughout his career. Either way, his delivery was perfectly timed, reminding everyone why he’s been one of comedy’s most enduring stars for decades.

This past week, Sandler was spotted in Albany, New York, with Kevin James, grabbing coffee after a sold-out performance at the MVP Arena. Fans who were lucky enough to be at Motor Oil Coffee that morning were treated to the sight of two of comedy’s biggest names ordering drinks and hanging out like any other customers.
Adam Sandler’s Upcoming Shows and Projects
The Albany stop was part of Sandler’s “You’re My Best Friend” tour, which blends stand-up comedy with music and surprise appearances by fellow stars. According to his tour schedule, he’s set to perform over two dozen more shows across the country before wrapping up in early November. Tickets have been in high demand.
When he isn’t cracking jokes or charming fans on the sidewalk, Adam Sandler has been busy in Hollywood and with Netflix. One of his biggest projects this summer was “Happy Gilmore 2,” which was released on July 25, 2025.

To the thrill of fans, Sandler is back as Happy Gilmore, along with classic characters like Shooter McGavin and Virginia Venit. He’s also bringing new faces into the mix, like Bad Bunny, Travis Kelce, and even his own kids.
Adam Sandler’s daughters, Sadie and Sunny, appeared in the film, with Sunny playing Happy’s daughter, Vienna, while Sadie has a role as Charlotte, a member of Happy’s Alcoholics Anonymous group (with a great line and reveal at the end of the movie). His wife, Jackie Sandler, also makes an appearance, giving the production a true family feel.

If that wasn’t enough, he’s also starring in “Jay Kelly,” a new film out later this year directed by Noah Baumbach. In it, Sandler plays the devoted manager to George Clooney’s Jay Kelly. On top of that, “Don’t Say Good Luck”, a teen musical comedy starring Sunny, is also in production for Netflix through Happy Madison Productions.
While his movie hits and Netflix specials have cemented his legacy, it’s the unscripted, genuine moments with fans that keep Sandler as beloved as ever. He’s still filling arenas, still sharing the stage with longtime friends, and still making people laugh, whether it’s on a sidewalk or under the spotlight.
