King Charles is reportedly saddened by Prince Harry’s claims that there are forces working to sabotage their potential reconciliation. The two recently met on September 10, 2025, for the first time since February 2024, during Harry’s four-day trip to the UK. The meeting, which lasted for about 55 minutes, took place at Clarence House, the king’s London residence, and was viewed as a hopeful step toward mending their strained relationship. Harry later spoke warmly of his father, calling him “great” during a charity event that evening, and shared that he enjoyed his visit to the UK.

However, in the days following the meeting, new reports began to emerge about the tone and formality of their conversation. The Sun published details that suggested Harry was taken aback by how “distinctly formal” the meeting felt. The publication also claimed that Harry had presented his father with a framed photograph of his children, Archie and Lilibet, as part of the gesture.

Prince Harry’s team has since addressed these claims, issuing a statement denying the reports. The spokesperson for Harry described the quotes attributed to him as “categorically false” and suggested that they were the result of sources “intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son.” They added that, while they would have preferred the details to remain private, it could be confirmed that Harry did indeed hand over a framed photograph—but clarified that it did not include the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

A Buckingham Palace source reportedly expressed disappointment at the “sabotage” claim, labeling it “counterproductive.” The source emphasized that behind the scenes, everyone, including King Charles himself, has been working hard to help rebuild the relationship between father and son. It’s clear that, despite the public discord, the king remains deeply invested in healing the rift.
Meanwhile, royal expert Hugo Vickers raised concerns about the potential emotional impact on Harry and Meghan’s children, Archie and Lilibet. He speculated that as the children grow older, they may struggle with the absence of a relationship with their grandfather, especially since Charles last saw them in June 2022 during the Queen’s platinum jubilee celebrations. Vickers warned that this could create emotional problems for the children in the future, particularly when they ask why they haven’t met their grandfather on either side of the family.
