Prince William, The Prince of Wales and Duke of Cornwall, is bringing together some of the world’s biggest names in showbiz for the upcoming Earthshot Awards, set to take place on November 5, 2025, in Rio de Janeiro. The ceremony, held at the Museum of Tomorrow, will be a star-studded event featuring performances from global icons like Kylie Minogue, Brazilian pop sensation Anitta, and Canadian singer Shawn Mendes.

In addition to the musical performances, the awards ceremony will also showcase the work of 15 finalists across five different categories, each competing for a £1 million prize aimed at tackling some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges. The event will be hosted by Brazilian television personality Luciano Huck, and trailers for the awards have already begun to circulate, narrated by Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey. His film, titled “Meet the World’s True Action Heroes,” introduces the finalists and their innovative solutions for environmental preservation.

The Earthshot Prize, which aims to find and support solutions to the world’s greatest environmental problems, will also feature performances by Brazilian musical legends Seu Jorge and Gilberto Gil. Gil, who is taking a break from his farewell tour, will add a special touch to the night with his performance.
Supermodel Gisele Bündchen is among the judges for the awards, and her participation highlights the global influence of the Earthshot Prize. As the event draws nearer, anticipation continues to build, with promises of more surprises to come.

After the awards ceremony, Prince William will travel to Belem, Brazil, to participate in the Heads of State meeting before COP30, representing his father, King Charles III. The Earthshot Prize ceremony in Brazil is set to be a significant moment, not only in recognizing environmental innovators but also in reinforcing the Royal Family’s commitment to sustainability and global environmental leadership.
