Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg and her husband, Nicolas Bagory, have expanded their family, welcoming their second child, a baby boy named Hélie, on October 17, 2025. The new arrival joins their first child, daughter Victoire, who was born on May 14, 2024. The announcement of Hélie’s birth came shortly after a significant event in the Luxembourg royal family — the abdication of Alexandra’s father, Grand Duke Henri, and the ascension of her older brother, Guillaume, to the throne of Luxembourg.

Princess Alexandra, who is now 34, and Nicolas, a Paris-based businessman, were married in April 2023. Their wedding was a two-part celebration: a civil ceremony held on April 22 in Luxembourg City and a private religious ceremony on April 29 at Saint Trophyme Church in Bormes-les-Mimosas, France. Their union has since brought them two children, marking a new chapter in the royal family’s history.
Following the abdication of Grand Duke Henri on October 3, 2025, Princess Alexandra’s position in the line of succession to the Luxembourg throne has shifted. She is now seventh in line, with her daughter Victoire following her in eighth place and Hélie, their son, now ninth. This change comes after a 2011 decree by Grand Duke Henri that established absolute primogeniture, allowing female descendants to be included in the line of succession alongside their male counterparts.

Princess Alexandra, the fourth child and only daughter of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, was present alongside Nicolas at the historic abdication ceremony, where they joined other family members on the balcony of the Grand Ducal Palace. The couple’s growing family and their participation in such pivotal moments underscore their growing importance within the Luxembourg monarchy.

The royal family’s milestones continue to captivate, with the new arrival of Prince Hélie marking another moment in the ongoing evolution of Luxembourg’s royal lineage
