Rickea Jackson, one of many standout rookies in the WNBA this season, set the record straight regarding her off-court life.
Jackson posted a video of herself on Instagram on Sunday. She was sporting an all-pink two-piece outfit. The clip racked up almost 30,000 likes. However, one fan said they were heartbroken to learn Jackson was seemingly in a relationship.

But Jackson cleared the air.
“She doesn’t have one of those,” Jackson wrote.

Jackson was one of two top picks made by the LA Sparks in the 2024 draft, being selected fourth overall. The guard had a solid first year in the pros, averaging 13.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists.
The Sparks are led by a group of young players who look to build for the future. The team finished with the WNBA’s worst record this season (8-32). So adding another top prospect and getting Cameron Brink back should help improve the franchise.
Jackson had multiple impressive showings as a rookie, but one stands out. She erupted for 25 points, three rebounds, four assists, two steals and three blocks against the Dallas Wings at the end of August.
Rickea Jackson nearly came to blows with Brittney Griner
Even though the LA Sparks were at the bottom of the standings for most of the season, Rickea Jackson never lost her competitive spirit. This was on full display during the team’s second-to-last game of the year.
The Sparks hosted the Phoenix Mercury in their final home game of the 2024 campaign two weeks ago. The LA crowd didn’t see much of the standout rookie, as she was ejected after just 19 minutes of action. Jackson was removed from the matchup for getting into a scuffle with Brittney Griner.
The incident happened while the two lined up next to each other during free throws. Jackson tried to get around Griner and was met with an elbow to the face. The two then began exchanging words and eventually laid hands on one another. Both teams had to separate them before things could escalate further.

This early exit ended a hot streak for the rookie guard scoring-wise. She had notched 20 or more points in three of her previous four games heading into that matchup. Jackson eventually played in LA’s season finale two days later, recording 19 points and eight rebounds in a win.
