Yes, there was a noticeable mistake regarding Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s name at Royal Ascot. On June 19, 2025, when the official carriage list was released, his name was misspelled as “Mr. Eduardo Mapello Mozzi” alongside Princess Beatrice’s name. The couple was riding in the third carriage with Princess Zahra Aga Khan and royal horse trainer William Haggas, but the typo caused a stir, especially since Edoardo’s name was correctly spelled on their nametags at the event.

Despite the mix-up, the couple appeared to have an enjoyable day at the races, sharing a kiss and engaging in lively conversation. Their public appearance came after a brief period of absence from royal duties, following the birth of their daughter Athena on January 22, 2025.

Athena was born prematurely, and Beatrice opened up about the emotional experience in a personal essay, expressing the worry she felt during that time. The couple, who also share a daughter, Sienna, and Edoardo’s son Christopher Woolf from a previous relationship, have continued to step back into royal life.

Though Beatrice and Edoardo are non-working royals, with their own professional careers, Beatrice holds an important position as a Counsellor of State. This role allows her to perform constitutional duties in the absence or incapacity of King Charles. While their daughters don’t currently hold royal titles in England, they inherit Italian nobility through Edoardo’s family, with the couple’s daughters becoming Italian nobles upon their birth.
