The View’s Sunny Hostin didn’t hold back as she unleashed her thoughts about President Donald Trump during the ongoing government shutdown on Thursday’s show.
The 57-year-old lawyer and host delivered a blistering attack on the president as she joined her ABC co-hosts – Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, and Alyssa Farah Griffin – in discussing the historic shutdown and its looming effects on air travel.

Hostin, who, like other cohosts who have ripped Trump and his presidency, chimed in on the shutdown as the panel talked about upcoming airspace reductions and their impact on flights at 40 airports nationwide.

The conversation then turned to the main issue behind the shutdown – the expiring Obamacare subsidies, which could cause health insurance costs to surge for millions of Americans if not extended, prompting Joy Behar to seek more details on the matter.
“So there’s a shutdown because Republicans don’t want to give extended Obamacare…the ultimate reason, though, is that they want to get rid of Obamacare altogether, even though they don’t have a plan,” Behar said, according to Express US.

As the discussion continued, she further noted that more Americans were holding Republicans responsible for the shutdown and emphasized that Democrats prioritize air safety and healthcare. But Griffin interrupted to challenge her stance on the healthcare debate.
“I do have to disagree, though, because you can reopen and fund the government and then vote on Obamacare,” she stated.
This sparked a heated exchange between her and Hostin as they talked over each other about whether Republicans would pass it.
“Ask for the promise then, and to Sarah’s point that she’s made a number of times, if everyone gets together, votes to reopen the government, fully staff and pay the FAA to keep our airlines open, so people can travel ahead of the holidays, make sure people get SNAP benefits, then Republicans should put that vote,” she expressed.
After Goldberg mentioned people’s lack of trust in Republicans, Hostin launched into a rant against the President, attributing everything to his ambition to dismantle his predecessor’s legacy.
“Well, the issue is healthcare is a human right; this is not a political call,” she declared. “So the Republican Party should open up the government, and the first thing they should do is make sure that those subsidies, Obamacare, get extended. Then they can do whatever they want, but give us our healthcare, because we deserve it, it’s a human right!”.
“And the only reason that they don’t want to extend those subsidies is because President Trump is such a thin-skinned small man, that he cannot let President Obama have a win,” she continued.

“He wants to gut President Obama’s legacy; it’s all about jealousy and resentment, and it’s so very tiny and small of him.”
