Marjorie Taylor Greene made a surprisingly cordial appearance on ABC’s The View this week, but one of the program’s co-hosts has revealed her suspicion that it wasn’t an indication the polarizing Congresswoman has truly transformed from her fiery persona.

Greene joined the show on its Nov. 4 broadcast, just before Democrats secured multiple important elections nationwide, including gubernatorial, mayoral, and local contests.
During her time on air, she appeared to criticize Republicans and call out her own party regarding the continuing government shutdown, engaging in a respectful dialogue with the panel members, who have frequently been critical of her previously.
Yet, in a recent Behind the Table podcast episode, Sunny Hostin and Sara Haines reflected on her time on the program—and Hostin confessed she remained unconvinced that the polite appearance signaled a reformed Greene.
In conversation with producer Brian Teta, she expressed her view that Greene’s conduct suggested she harbors ambitions for higher office down the road, reports the Express US.
“I’m sort of conflicted about it because I don’t like to normalize or platform behavior that I think is abhorrent and I think that Marjorie Taylor Greene has done some things that are not only really unbecoming of a congressperson…but also just unbecoming. It’s uncivil,” she said. “And I was concerned about that.
“But she was civil. But I don’t think she’s changed,” she continued, pointing out that she explicitly asked Green if they were witnessing an “evolution” and Greene said she was the “same person.”
She went on to suggest that Greene had reached a point in life where a complete transformation seemed unlikely.
“I think at a big age, in my experience, people don’t change, but they may behave differently because they want something,” she said. “And I think she aspires to higher office. Perhaps it’s the Senate, perhaps it’s even the presidency. I don’t know, but I don’t know that we saw a different Marjorie Taylor Greene. I thought we just saw someone behaving differently.”

Throughout her guest spot, Greene didn’t hold back on criticizing her own party, taking direct aim at House Speaker Mike Johnson, while also sharing her views on other hot-button issues—including the Epstein documents.

Addressing Republican reluctance to make them public—something she’s been vocal about supporting—she suggested they were shielding “rich and powerful men.”
Since then, Greene has spoken about the response to her appearance, saying she’s faced criticism and alleging that MAGA influencers were paid to “attack” her afterward.

The View airs weekdays on ABC.
