LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Fresh off their WNBA championship, two Las Vegas Aces guards will join Team USA’s training camp in North Carolina next month.
Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young were announced as two of the 18 players who will participate in the USA Basketball Women’s National Team camp on the campus of Duke University.
Both players have two Olympic gold medals from Tokyo and Paris. Gray also won gold with the U.S. at the 2022 Women’s Basketball World Cup in Australia.
Kara Lawson, head coach of the Duke women’s basketball team, is leading the camp. She previously served as head coach of the U.S. 3×3 basketball team with Young at the 2020 Olympics and was an assistant for the 2024 women’s team at Paris.
She will be assisted by Golden State Valkyries head coach Natalie Nakase, formerly an assistant with the Aces.The training camp comes ahead of the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup planned for September next year in Germany.
