After months of anticipation, Today show meteorologist Dylan Dreyer and her husband Brian Fichera welcomed their second child, Oliver George, on January 2, 2020 — and the world couldn’t get enough of the first photo of the new arrival heading home from the hospital.
Wrapped snugly in a soft white blanket, with a tiny striped hospital beanie perched on his head, baby Oliver looked peaceful and content in a photo Dylan posted to Instagram. “Relaxed and ready for home!” she wrote. “Thank you everyone for your outpouring of love and kindness as we welcomed little Oliver into the world! We are absolutely overjoyed with love. This must be what Heaven is like!”
Oliver’s birth marked a new chapter for the Dreyer-Fichera family. Born at 9:13 a.m., weighing 7 lbs., 2 oz., and measuring 19 inches, he joined big brother Calvin, then three years old. Dylan said the transition to a family of four felt effortless — “everything just clicked.”

On air, she revealed the name “Oliver” came to them serendipitously. While covering the Royal Ascot in London, she kept noticing the name everywhere — from stores to signs — as if fate were nudging her in that direction. “We just liked the name,” she said. “There was no big reason, but it just felt right.”
But perhaps the sweetest part of Dylan’s story is the moment Calvin met his baby brother. “He woke up at five in the morning, got dressed, and was ready to come to the hospital,” she recalled. “When he finally got to meet Oliver, he had this huge smile on his face. He sat on my lap, looked at Oliver, and asked to hold him right away. It was perfect.”
For Dylan, becoming a mom of two came with both joy and reflection. She admitted she once wondered how she’d ever find enough love for another child. “You love your first one so much, you can’t imagine how there’s room for more,” she said. “But when it happens, everything just feels complete.”

The Today family was quick to shower Dylan with love. Co-host Sheinelle Jones commented with hearts and excitement, while actress Ellie Kemper, who had also recently welcomed her second child, wrote, “All the love your way, Mama! BEAUTY!”
As Dylan and Brian packed up to take Oliver home, she described the moment as “heavenly,” full of gratitude and peace. It wasn’t just another day — it was the day their family felt whole.
With her trademark warmth, Dylan summed it up perfectly: “The four of us… it just feels right. There was no adjustment period. It’s like, ‘Oh yeah, this is us. This is our family.’”
For millions of fans, it was a glimpse into a pure, joyful moment — a reminder that even amid the chaos of life, some stories begin in the quiet comfort of love.
