The Texas Rangers have some needs for the 2026 season. Their biggest strength in 2025 was pitching, and the Rotation is looking a little different early this off-season.

Rotational Needs
The Rangers have Nathan Eovaldi, Jacob deGrom and Jack Leiter listed on their depth chart at the time of this writing. They also still have Cody Bradford and Kumar Rocker as well as Jake Latz that could work into the rotation.
I believe they are going to pick up at least one mid-level pitcher to add to the mix. Someone with some experience but who has been down recently.
A player like a Mike Minor, Jon Gray or Tyler Anderson. Not a splashy name, but someone that can eat some innings.
Rocker will have a chance to make the rotation, as well as Cody Bradford. Latz would have to have an amazing spring to make the team as part of the rotation.
Bullpen Needs
The Rangers have Robert Garcia, Josh Sporz, Jacob Webb, Latz, Cole Winn, Jose Corniell and Luis Curvelo listed on their depth chart.
The rest are free agents and are probably not returning after the team lead the majors in pitching in 2025.
They need a real closer (they won’t pay for one), and 2 to 3 mid range arms for the pen to have a chance next season.
Their minor leagues are depleted and they need outside help. Again, we have been told payroll will be cut significantly.
Offense Help
The Rangers had one of the worst offenses in the majors in 2025. Injuries to key players hurt, but even when everyone was healthy is was not going well.
They need an overhaul. Corey Seager, Marcus Semien and Jock Pederson are not getting any younger. Josh Jung and Jonah Heim took a step back in 2025 as well.
Could they reunite with Travis Jankowski? I could actually see that happening. He liked it here and the team seemed to like him as well.
The Ranger just need people that can be patient and actually hit the ball. They struggled to hit and take walks in 2025.
Of course the Rangers could still trade away players like Heim and Adolis Garcia, we will have to wait and see what they do.
This offseason is not going to be an exciting one in my opinion. The Rangers are going to go budget shopping. Don’t expect big names to come to Texas before the 2026 season.
