Wedding bells are ringing for Trey Yesavage and his girlfriend, Taylor Frick. On Friday, the 22-year-old Toronto Blue Jays pitcher and his college sweetheart announced their engagement on social media by sharing intimate photos from their beachside proposal.
In a series of photos, Yesavage is seen on bended knee on a beach at sunset, holding a ring box to a visibly surprised Frick, who’s barefoot in a strapless blue dress.

“11/13/25 — in this lifetime and the next, it will always be you,” the pair captioned a joint Instagram post, which included a close-up of the stunning oval-cut solitaire diamond with a platinum, diamond-encrusted band.
The announcement earned well-wishes from friends and fans, including messages from the wives and girlfriends of fellow Blue Jays players.
“Couldn’t be happier for you two!” wrote Clair Fluharty, who’s married to fellow Blue Jays pitcher Mason Fluharty. “The best people ever! The Flus love you guys.”
“What a year! Congrats, we are so excited for y’all,” said Jessica Bassitt, wife of Blue Jays pitcher Chris Bassitt.
“Holy cow! What a way to cap off your year,” a follower wrote. “Congratulations to you both!”
It’s been a whirlwind few months for Yesavage. After signing with the Blue Jays in August 2024, he made his MLB debut two months ago with nine strikeouts against the New York Yankees. Although the Blue Jays lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 7 of the World Series, Yesavage became a fan favourite and key player in the team’s success.

Earlier this month, the pair celebrated another significant milestone in their relationship by moving in together. On Nov. 4, Frick shared a photo to her Instagram stories to celebrate moving in with the 22-year-old athlete.
“Cheers to this new chapter, roomies!” Frick captioned a photo of Yesavage smiling before a meal.
Prior to moving in with Frick, the Boyerton, Penn. native had been something of a nomad since joining the team.
“You should see my truck right now. It looks like a mobile home,” Yesavage told reporters in October. “I’m changing hotel rooms every time we leave and come back. I’ve had to consolidate and only bring necessities in my suitcase with me.”
Frick, who met Yesavage while they both attended East Carolina University, took to Instagram after the end of the Blue Jays’ post-season with a heartfelt message to her then-boyfriend and now-fiancée.
“Every day I am reminded of how lucky we are to have experienced such blessings…to have a country filled with those who stand by you, a community in Toronto that welcomed us with open arms and friends and family who became Blue Jays fans overnight…I couldn’t have asked for anything more than for others to find joy in your success just as I do,” she wrote. “To me, you won from the second you stepped on that Toronto field. You won with a team that believed in you, the records you have broken, & the support that is more than we could have ever imagined.”
