The transgender person who is the focus of a viral Los Angeles gym bathroom row has insisted they are entitled to use the female facilities — and wouldn’t be comfortable in a trans-only locker room.
Alexis Black spoke out after singer-songwriter Tish Hyman, who is an out lesbian, claimed they were recently kicked out of a former Gold’s Gym in Beverly Hills for confronting a person with male genitalia in the women’s locker room.

Footage of the shouting match quickly exploded on social media after Hyman, who boasts nearly 100,000 monthly Spotify listeners, accused the trans gym-goer of exposing their penis in the locker room and harassing women.
“The truth in the moment is far from what she is purporting it to be. Literally every time that she’s done that I’ve had women in the locker room comforting me because of how aggressive she was towards me,” Black claimed.
“I know that I’m a woman.”
“I began using hormones this year in February … you know, name change, and it says female on my ID — and hormones. I’m registered as a female with the gym,” they added.
Black, who is currently transitioning, has since shot down the claims, insisting to TMZ that they were fully covered and denying that anything inappropriate unfolded ahead of the caught-on-camera fracas.

Black defended the use of the female changing room — arguing they would feel discriminated against if they were forced to use a male or trans-only one.
“You’re not going to put a trans woman with a trans man just because we’re trans,” they said.
“That seems like a whole new envelope of discrimination.”
The saga erupted after Hyman, a 42-year-old Bronx native, posted footage earlier this week of her screaming for Black to get out of the female locker room at the gym, which was recently acquired and is now run by EōS Fitness, after the trans gym-goer allegedly called her a “b—h.”
“Now he knows how to be a man, right? Now he knows how to be a man. Stay outta the women’s locker room! We don’t want it. He needs to have his gym membership revoked for that s–t!” Hyman shouted in the clip.
“We already filed reports. No, no, no! You can’t get rid of me for this! I’m a woman and I have every right not to want a man in the restroom when I’m naked! There are girls naked in there,” she argued.
Hyman claimed she was booted from the gym moments later and had her membership revoked.

Footage shot by onlookers captured Hyman complaining to gym staff before she was escorted from the facility.
“Men! Grown men with big d—ks in the women’s locker room! And that’s why I’m getting kicked out, and I wanna make sure the girls know!” she fumed.

“What the f—k? Everybody saw that man in the f—king locker room, and no one’s saying s—t! … Me, naked in front of a man without my permission, but I’m the one who gets kicked out the gym, y’all!”
Hyman claims she and other female gym-goers have lodged repeated complaints about Black’s presence in the locker room – but they have done nothing to help quell concerns.
The singer has insisted, too, that she isn’t transphobic.
“I’m a lesbian. I’ve been a lesbian my whole life. I treat people how I want to be treated, regardless of whatever their sexual orientation is or whatever they decide. So I’m not transphobic, I’m not homophobic, I’m not racist,” she said in one of many videos posted on social media amid the controversy.
“Why do you guys think it’s okay for men to be in the women’s restroom? And when is the cut-off point? Is it when you cut off your penis and you can come in here? Why aren’t women making the laws?”
“And if you really want to f—king be safe and feel good, why don’t we just make trans restrooms? Because it ain’t right.”
EōS Fitness, which recently bought the former Gold’s Gym location, hasn’t addressed the ordeal.

Gold’s Gym, meanwhile, said they were aware of the incident.
“While we understand many members and the public still associate this facility with Gold’s Gym, EoS Fitness now operates the location independently and is responsible for all policies, staffing, and member relations,” a spokesperson said.
“We recognize this recent change has created confusion. Members with questions about their memberships or this incident should contact EoS Fitness directly.
“Gold’s Gym is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for every member. We want everyone to have a positive experience when visiting our gyms. Our approach to the use of locker rooms at our facilities is consistent with state and local laws.”
