After the 1-2-3 first, the Toronto Blue Jays rookie found himself in trouble in the second inning. He walked Will Smith, allowed a single to Max Muncy, before Kike Hernandez hit an RBI single to center field. However, the condition could have been much worse had Andy Pages or Ohtani capitalized on RBI opportunities with bases loaded.
His command was awful even in the third inning as the Dodgers drove in another run, thanks to Smith’s RBI single to right field. In the fourth inning, he registered a quick inning, including two strikeouts against Tommy Edman and Hernandez.
Overall, he pitched 4.0 innings, giving up two earned runs on four hits, walking three, and striking out five.

Yesavage didn’t return to the mound for the fifth as manager John Schneider handed the ball to the bullpen. Mason Fluharty gave up a hit to Mookie Betts but retired Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman. Seranthony Dominguez entered the ballgame to face Will Smith, who flied out against him.
At the time of writing, things remain tied in the top of the sixth inning.
