Recently, new details about Zara Tindall’s unexpected bathroom birth have emerged, shared by her husband, Mike Tindall. On March 21, Zara, the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, gave birth to their son, Lucas Philip Tindall, on the bathroom floor of their home. The family was unable to get to the hospital in time, leading to the birth at home. Baby Lucas Philip is the 10th great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth and is 22nd in line to the British throne.

Zara is the eldest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth, the daughter of Princess Anne, Queen Elizabeth’s second child, and the cousin of Prince William and Harry. Mike Tindall recently shared these previously undisclosed details about the birth during an interview on “Good Morning Britain” on April 30.
Mike recalled that the day was unexpectedly beautiful as a new boy entered their family. He quickly ran to the gym, grabbed a mat, and laid it down in the bathroom, preparing the space for the birth. “I placed the mat on the floor, laid out towels, and got ready,” he recalled. In the interview, Mike revealed that the birth unfolded in a way neither he nor Zara had imagined.

He also denied rumors that he delivered the baby himself. “This is not true. Thankfully, the midwife arrived just in time, and I only had to stand by and encourage Zara,” Mike explained. He further revealed that Zara’s close friend, Dolly, a midwife, was present and helped manage the situation until the midwife arrived. “It was a bit out of our expectations, but we were lucky to have Dolly, who’s a midwife, there to help. When the midwife arrived, I could finally relax and just be there to support Zara,” he added.

Mike expressed his joy at becoming a father to a son, especially since they already have two daughters, Mia (7) and Lena (2). “My emotions were a bit up and down. It’s great to have a boy now. The number of girls around me was getting overwhelming, so having Lucas is a good thing,” Mike said, humorously.
Earlier, Mike had praised his wife Zara for being a “warrior” as the couple was seen out just two days after the birth of their son. Zara had previously given birth to Mia and Lena at medical facilities, including a hospital and a birthing center near their home.

A few days after Lucas’s birth, on March 24, Buckingham Palace issued a statement congratulating the family and expressing hope that the baby would soon meet Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. As of now, there is no information on whether Lucas has met Prince Philip, who passed away on April 9. Following Prince Philip’s death, Mike shared a tribute on Instagram, posting a picture of the Duke of Edinburgh enjoying snacks with Zara’s eldest daughter, Mia, as a way to remember the late royal
