Former Bachelor host Chris Harrison has weighed in on Meghan Markle’s social media return, offering a blunt take on a recent viral clip. Speaking on the June 17 episode of his Through the Drama podcast with wife Lauren Zima, Harrison commented, “Meghan Markle finally had a very small victory… She finally had what seemed like a normal moment [and] it went viral. She was dancing with [Prince] Harry in the hospital room.”
The clip in question, uploaded to Instagram earlier this month, shows Meghan, 43, and her husband Harry, 40, dancing to the viral “Baby Mama Dance” moments before the Duchess gave birth to their daughter, Princess Lilibet, in 2021. The couple also shares a son, Prince Archie, born in 2019. Harrison quipped that the video “made her look just, like, a normal human being,” but added that Meghan “can’t take the win of just letting it go… It’s just cringe, and she can’t get out of her own way. God bless her.”

Meghan, however, defended the post on the latest episode of Emma Grede’s Aspire podcast, emphasizing that the clip was filmed four years ago and reflects a genuine, behind-the-scenes moment. “You have to be authentic,” she said, adding that the video serves as a reminder that “there’s still a whole life — a real, authentic, fun life — that’s happening behind the scenes.” She also noted the importance of sharing content on her own terms, now that she has returned to social media: “I’m just grateful that now, being back on social as well, I have a place where I can share it on my own terms.”
Meghan originally shuttered her social media accounts, along with her lifestyle blog The Tig, before marrying Prince Harry in 2018. The couple stepped back from senior royal duties in 2020 and relocated to California with their children, Archie and Lilibet. Earlier this year, Meghan relaunched her Instagram while simultaneously growing her business ventures.

Reflecting on her return to social media, Meghan described the experience as liberating. “I have to look again, what was my intention? I came back, started the account in January of this year,” she said. Meghan also shared that she is navigating content creation without the typical professional setups: “There were no gadgets [when I was on social media]. You should see me sitting there trying to figure the magnet on things. I don’t have key lights and I don’t have all this business yet, but I don’t know if you need it.”

In short, while critics like Chris Harrison may view Meghan’s social media moments as “cringe,” the Duchess sees them as a chance to reclaim her narrative and share authentic, personal experiences with her followers on her own terms.
