Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly “furious” over what they perceive as a lack of acknowledgment from the Royal Family regarding their concerns and the ongoing tension between them. Despite years of public drama, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex feel they have been treated under a “double standard,” especially following Buckingham Palace’s quick and formal apology to charity leader Ngozi Fulani after an incident with Lady Susan Hussey. According to insiders, Harry and Meghan are frustrated that they have never received the same level of attention or reconciliation efforts from the Palace, despite raising their own concerns for years.

In their Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan, released in December, the couple aired their grievances about their treatment by the Royal Family, particularly during the fallout from Megxit, when they stepped back from royal duties. Prince Harry expressed that he has had to come to terms with the idea that they may never receive a real apology from the Palace, a sentiment that still lingers. A source close to the couple told The Sunday Times that the Sussexes are frustrated by the Palace’s actions, stating, “Nothing like that was ever done when Harry and Meghan raised their concerns—no meeting, no formal apology, no accountability. It’s frustrating. They’ve wanted a reconciliation meeting for years.”

The Sussexes are reportedly hoping for some form of reconciliation before King Charles III’s coronation in May 2026, especially after Buckingham Palace confirmed that all family members are welcome to the event. Despite these hopes, tensions remain high within the family. While King Charles is reportedly “open to dialogue” and willing to meet with Harry and Meghan, Prince William is said to have no intention of speaking to his brother. Additionally, Buckingham Palace has made it clear that they will not be responding to the claims made in Harry and Meghan’s Netflix series.
Furthermore, Harry’s upcoming memoir Spare, set for release next month, is rumored to include even more revelations that could further strain the relationship with the Royal Family. Despite King Charles being open to reconciliation, royal aides have warned that there are limits to his patience, particularly when it comes to how his wife, Queen Consort Camilla, is portrayed. “The King is open to reconciliation,” one insider shared, “but there are limits to his patience.”

As the tension between Harry, Meghan, and the Royal Family continues to unfold, it seems that while the King is willing to extend an olive branch, the road to reconciliation remains complex and fraught with unresolved issues.
