Good morning, baseball fans!
Since the season ended, the McCovey Chronicles staff have been doing player reviews that go over each member of the San Francisco Giants’ 2025 season. Today, I’m going to start our community reviews where we ask you all to weigh in on how you feel like each player did this year and what your favorite highlights were.

We’re going to start with shortstop Willy Adames. Steven wrote about Adames’ season in his excellent player review here, for reference. And since Steven covered the hard-hitting analysis, I’m going to go ahead and touch on the vibes.
Adames was an excellent vibes addition this year, even if he had rough stretches that garnered plenty of criticism. As a huge Brandon Belt fan, I’m no stranger to supporting players who have slumps and hot streaks.
But what really got me on board with him was the fact that he was outspoken about how much he wanted to be not just a player for the Giants, but also part of the community.
Now, I know that may be a bit cliche, but he seemed like he actually meant it. And after the last couple of seasons where players like Carlos Rodón and Blake Snell left and immediately started disparaging Giants fans specifically, rather than the organization, it was a bit of fresh air and I appreciated it.
Adames had a positive attitude, lots of support for his teammates, and even won the 2025 Willie Mac Award. Which I think says an awful lot about how his teammates and coaches feel about his impact on the team, even if a lot of that is behind the scenes.
So I’m giving Adames’ 2025 season a A-.
