Chiefs and KC Chamber of Commerce Kick Off the Season With Annual Luncheon

Kansas City, MO — The excitement of a new football season officially began on Thursday, as the Kansas City Chiefs joined the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce for the highly anticipated annual Kickoff Luncheon. The event, which has become a staple for both the team and the local business community, was more than just a celebration — it set the stage for what promises to be another thrilling season at Arrowhead.

A Tradition That Unites the City
Each year, the Kickoff Luncheon serves as a bridge between the Chiefs and the community, bringing together business leaders, fans, and players in one spirited gathering. This year was no exception. The ballroom buzzed with energy as hundreds of guests filled the venue, donning red and gold to show their support.
“Football is more than a game here in Kansas City,” said Chamber President Joe Reardon. “It’s part of our identity. This luncheon is a way to bring people together, rally around our Chiefs, and celebrate the start of another incredible season.”

The Chiefs Take the Stage
Head coach Andy Reid, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and tight end Travis Kelce headlined the program, taking questions and sharing their thoughts on the upcoming season. The mood was a mix of confidence and excitement, with Reid emphasizing preparation and Mahomes stressing the importance of team chemistry.
“We know the expectations are high,” Mahomes told the crowd. “But that’s what drives us. This city deserves the best, and we’re ready to go after it again.”

More Than Football
While the luncheon celebrated the upcoming season, it also highlighted the Chiefs’ deep ties to Kansas City. Several community initiatives were announced, including new outreach programs and partnerships aimed at supporting local youth, education, and small businesses.
“Our mission is bigger than football,” said Clark Hunt, the team’s chairman and CEO. “We’re here to lift up Kansas City, both on and off the field.”

Setting the Tone for the Season
The afternoon ended with a standing ovation as fans and business leaders alike cheered for the team. For many, the luncheon felt like the unofficial first kickoff of the season — a reminder that football is back, and so is the electric spirit of Chiefs Kingdom.
