As fans wondered why The View host Joy Behar was missing from her normal spot on the show this week, her co-host, Whoopi Goldberg, revealed the reason behind the absence, assuring fans that Behar would be back soon.
On the new episode of The View that aired Wednesday, Nov. 12, Goldberg addressed Behar’s absence after greeting the crowd enthusiastically, saying, “Well, hello, hello, hello, and welcome to The View, y’all!”
She then mentioned her missing co-host, explaining that Behar hasn’t been on the show so far this week after suffering an injury, telling the audience, “Now, Joy is out because she hurt her foot, and hopefully, she’ll be back here tomorrow.”

Goldberg didn’t elaborate on what the exact foot injury was or how it happened, but considering she shared the positive outlook that she might be back the next day, Behar is likely doing okay.
While Behar usually has Mondays off from The View, fans were surprised to tune in on Tuesday and not see the talk show star. On Nov. 11, Goldberg also mentioned Behar’s absence, but she didn’t share much information, saying, “Joy is out today. Hopefully she’ll be back tomorrow.”
Luckily, the Sister Act star revealed a bit more about the situation the next day, comforting concerned viewers.
During Wednesday’s episode, the cast of The View also took a moment to pay tribute to the late Cleto Escobedo III, a close friend of Jimmy Kimmel and the band leader on his late-night talk show. Escobedo died on Nov. 11 at the age of 59.
“Quite a guy, and he will absolutely be missed,” said Goldberg as they shared some photos of him.
The hosts also sat down with actor Rob Riggle to talk about his new memoir, Grit, Spit, and Never Quit: A Marine’s Guide to Comedy and Life, which came out on Nov. 11, and chatted about various trending topics.
