Not all American stars are traveling to Europe to settle there permanently; some still see the continent as a job opportunity. That’s the case with Whoopi Goldberg , who has announced she ‘ll be in Italy for a week working on a project .
The 70-year-old actress and presenter reported on her trip through Instagram stories, in the post she apologized for not being on ‘The View’ for a whole week , a television program she has been a part of for 18 seasons.

“If you notice I’m not on ‘The View’ this week, it’s because I’m in Italy working,” she wrote in the post, which was only available for 24 hours.
His trip to Europe is because he will be filming some episodes of the Italian soap opera ‘Un Posto Al Sole’ , which is an icon in the country, as it has been broadcast on Rai 3 since 1996.

‘Un Posto Al Sole’ can be compared to the Spanish series ‘Aquí no hay quien viva’, as the entire plot takes place in a fictional apartment building, called Palazzo Palladini, located in the Posillipo neighborhood of Naples.
Like the Spanish series, this telenovela depicts everyday situations and the relationships of all the characters who live in the building. Of course, for almost three decades, the show has included special guests to become part of the story. The episodes Goldberg will film will premiere in 2026.
Goldberg found out she would be participating in ‘Un Posto Al Sole’ this summer , and during her appearance on the ‘Behind the Table’ podcast she said she was nervous about the project.
“I love soap operas. I love them. I don’t know how they work there. It will be something new and I hope I can take them all with me,” she said.
