Caitlin Clark’s second season in the WNBA didn’t go as expected.
Clark has missed a majority of the season due to injury and recently announced that she would be sitting out for the remainder of her second season with the Indiana Fever.
The WNBA star has been working through a groin injury that’s forced the Fever to make several lineup changes.
With Clark having announced that she would miss the remainder of the season, teammate Aliyah Boston shared her reaction to the news.
“I mean that’s our girl,” Boston said. “I feel like no matter what happened, you have to protect you and you have to protect your career. There’s no reason to force anything. I feel like her kind of having that approach to do what’s best for her is all we can ask for.”
Throughout her second season in the WNBA, Clark posted 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game for the Fever.

The Fever have also lost several other players to season-ending injuries, including Sophie Cunningham, Aari McDonald, Chloe Bibby and Sydney Colson.
While head coach Stephanie White has been dealt several losses, Boston has put the Fever on her back. Throughout her third season in the WNBA, Boston has posted 15.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.
