Behind every franchise quarterback is a game plan you don’t see.

For Caleb Williams, that plan started long before the NFL — and it began at home.
Meet Caleb Williams’ Parents: The Power Duo Behind the Chicago Bears Star
Before Caleb Williams became the face of the Chicago Bears and a Heisman Trophy winner, he was just a kid with a bold declaration: If I’m going to play quarterback, I want to be the greatest to ever do it.
Most 10-year-olds dream. Caleb made a demand.
And his parents built the blueprint.
The Architect: Carl Williams
By profession, Carl Williams is a commercial real estate developer. But by impact? He’s been the architect of one of football’s most carefully constructed careers.

Carl is also part owner of Athletic Republic Capitol Region, a performance training facility known for developing elite athletes. It wasn’t just a business venture — it was infrastructure.
When Caleb committed to becoming a quarterback, Carl didn’t laugh it off. He assembled youth football coaches, created a detailed development plan, and mapped out a path that included predawn workouts, advanced quarterback coaching, recovery sessions and long-term college strategy.
“It’s one thing to say you want to throw the ball,” Carl once reflected. “It’s another to say you want to be the greatest.”
And Caleb meant it.

In his 2022 Heisman Trophy acceptance speech, Caleb publicly thanked his father for the sacrifices, the late-night practices and even opening Athletic Republic so he and his teammates could train.
“My dreams, which eventually became our dreams,” he said.
Carl didn’t just push talent. He cultivated belief.
The Strategist
As Caleb’s career advanced, so did the stakes.
When Caleb entered the NCAA transfer portal in January 2022 after one season at Oklahoma, backlash erupted. But Carl stayed focused on one thing: NFL readiness.
“You go to college to prepare for your career,” Carl said at the time. The goal wasn’t popularity — it was Day One NFL preparedness.

Caleb eventually signed with USC, where he won the Heisman in December 2022 and cemented himself as a top prospect.
Even as speculation swirled before Caleb’s NFL arrival — including claims in a 2025 book that Carl questioned whether Chicago was the right fit — Caleb made it clear he wanted to be part of turning the Bears around.
The father may advise. But the son decides.
The Heart: Dayna Price
If Carl built the blueprint, Dayna Price built the soul.

A professional nail technician, Dayna’s influence shows up in one of Caleb’s most talked-about trademarks: his painted nails.
Long before cameras zoomed in on them, Dayna was painting her son’s nails at home.
“My mom was my inspiration,” Caleb said in 2022. “She’s been doing nails since I could remember.”
What began as bonding time became a signature form of expression. Caleb uses his nails to send messages — from opponent callouts to social causes. In 2022, he wore the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline number on his nails to promote mental health awareness.
In a sport often defined by toughness and stoicism, Caleb chose visibility and vulnerability.
And that mindset traces back to Dayna.
The Emotional Anchor
One of the most powerful moments of Caleb’s college career didn’t involve a touchdown.
After a tough loss to Washington in November 2023, he ran to the stands and broke down in his mother’s arms. Cameras captured it. Social media debated it.
Caleb didn’t apologize.
“Being an advocate for mental health and trying to show your emotions — it’s something I’ve been doing since I was young,” he later wrote.
That emotional fluency? It didn’t appear overnight.
It was nurtured.
Dayna has remained a constant presence — cheering, supporting, collaborating with her son on projects like a 2023 commercial celebrating his manicure partnership.

“I really like all the things he’s able to do,” she said, “not just the football piece of it.”
A Family Built for the Long Game
Now in the NFL with the Chicago Bears, Caleb is chasing his first Super Bowl. But his foundation was poured long ago — in early morning training sessions, at nail tables, in difficult conversations about career moves, and in tearful postgame embraces.
Carl brought structure.
Dayna brought strength.
Together, they didn’t just raise a quarterback.
They raised a leader unafraid to dream loudly, prepare relentlessly and feel openly.
And as Caleb Williams looks to carve his legacy in Chicago, one thing is certain:
He’s never been doing this alone.
