Three years after âUn Verano Sin Tiâ became the first Spanish-language album to earn a Grammy nomination in the album of the year category, Bad Bunnyâs latest release, âDebĂ Tirar MĂĄs Fotosâ (âI Should Have Taken More Photosâ), has earned him the nod once again.
Adding to the milestone, the albumâs title track also earned him nominations in the song and record of the year categories â making Bad Bunny the second Spanish-language act to appear in the category and the first to appear across the big three in the same year. (âDespacitoâ from was the first Spanish-language song to appear in both the record and song categories in 2018.)
The genre-expansive and culturally-empowering âDebĂ Tirar MĂĄs Fotosâ notched a total of six nominations on Friday. Bad Bunny is also up for best album cover (a new category), best mĂșsica urbana album and best global music performance for âEoO.â
His sixth solo studio album was released on Jan. 5 through Rimas Entertainment and follows his previous record, âNadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana,â which was nominated for a Grammy in the mĂșsica urbana album category in 2025 (it lost to Residenteâs âLas Letras Ya No Importanâ).
âDebĂâ led to Bad Bunnyâs expansive 31-date residency in Puerto Rico over the summer. The 17-song record is composed of mĂșsica jĂbara, or Puerto Rican folk, a staple of the islandâs musical and cultural traditions, and tackles themes of political resistance and cultural pride.
âAt the peak of my career and popularity, I want to show the world who I am, who Benito Antonio is, and who Puerto Rico is,â he said upon its release. âSeeing it come to life has brought me immense happiness. Iâve always been honest with my followers, and through this new production, theyâll continue to learn more about me as I, too, discover more about myself.â
He has won three Grammys â twice for mĂșsica urbana album and once for Latin pop album â and has earned 10 nominations overall. At the Latin Grammys on Nov. 13, he leads all nominees with 12 nods, including record of the year, album of the year and song of the year for âDebĂ Tirar MĂĄs Fotos.â
