Addressing viewers at home, David began, “Good evening. David continued, “Behind closed doors, members of Congress were shown the entire video, four strikes in all. The second strike killing the survivors.”
“Tonight, one lawmaker saying it was one of the most troubling things he has seen in public service. Another saying what he saw was entirely lawful. Martha Raddatz, leading us off late tonight,” the journalist concluded as he passed on to his colleague.

Martha then explained, “The Pentagon releasing this video of a new attack on a suspected drumboat In the eastern Pacific, they say four people were killed, but didn’t provide further information,” as a video of the horrific boat bombing played on screen.
“It comes just hours after Admiral Mitch Bradley, the commander who directed the September 2 attack on another suspected drug boat and follow-up strikes that killed two survivors, appeared on Capitol Hill.”
“The admiral giving a quick nod when asked if he stands by his actions behind closed doors,” Martha told viewers as he was seen pacing through the White House.
“Lawmakers watched video of the strikes emerging with starkly different impressions,” she continued, as a clip played of a lawmaker speaking out on the strikes. “What I saw in that room was one of the most troubling things I’ve seen in my time in public service,” he admitted.
The segment was shared to ABC World News Tonight’s Instagram, with the caption, “Lawmakers on both sides are warning Secretary Pete Hegseth may have committed war crimes after the White House said he authorized two strikes on an alleged drug boat, one of them reportedly targeting survivors. @martharaddatz reports.”

Viewers were quick to vent their fury over the story, with one user declaring, “Questions about the second strike? What about the first!!! Where is the evidence?????”
As someone else pointed out, “This is what happens when you elect incompetent people,” prompting another user to say, “Literally no possible way to spin it that doesn’t break one law or another.”
A fourth person asked, “Whatās so much worse about the second strike? The first one killed 9 people. They should be going to jail for both strikes,” while a fifth viewer wondered, “How the heck do they all sleep at night?”
“From the beginning, these attacks were and are war crimes and the people responsible should be put on trial. Pete should go to prison for his actions. PERIOD!” a sixth blasted. “We are in trouble!” another person worried.
