“So tonight here what’s behind this latest action, the seizing of this oil tanker amid escalating tensions between the US and Venezuelan president Nicholas Maduro, Martha Raddatz leading us off,” David said before passing the baton to Martha.
Martha gave an in-depth report of the troops storming the oil tanker, and even brought Trump into the mix as she explained the current battle between him and Maduro, 63.

Martha even warned David about the seriousness of Trump’s latest move.
“David make no mistake the U.S. seizure of that oil tanker off Venezuela is a significant escalation. You saw those images of the U.S. Navy helicopters storming that tanker,” she explained. “The US now has 15,000 forces in the region.”
Trump confirmed the seizure on Wednesday afternoon, as he informed reporters: “As you probably know, we’ve just seized a tanker on the coast of Venezuela, a large tanker, very large, largest one ever seized, actually.” Exactly where the vessel was intercepted is unclear.
