The enforcement initiative, dubbed “Operation Charlotte’s Web,” has reportedly led to over 130 arrests within its first two days. Muir then handed the report off to his correspondent Faith Abubey, who was on location in Charlotte.

She painted a picture of “escalating fear and outrage,” highlighting that ICE has already apprehended at least 130 individuals in the city. The footage included a tense moment where a woman yelled at a border patrol agent, “I’m a U.S. citizen!”

Abubey also cautioned that New Orleans could be next on the list. She reported that ICE might target the Democrat-controlled city by week’s end, revealing that intelligence gathering and planning are already in progress.

A final, passionate viewer wrote, “It’s not about arrest it’s about CONVICTIONS. Immediately out of the gate they are arresting LATINO AMERICANS. One man was detained TWICE within an hour. First time he was let go. The second time they broke his car windows and pulled him out of the car.

Federal authorities claim the operation aims to eliminate “public safety threats,” with DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stating that the administration is “surging DHS law enforcement to Charlotte…to ensure Americans are safe.”

However, local leadership vehemently disagrees. Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles and other city officials have denounced the raids, describing them as creating “unnecessary fear and uncertainty.”
Community groups report that immigrant-owned establishments closed their doors over the weekend, with residents remaining indoors as detentions allegedly occurred near churches and schools.
This enforcement push extends beyond Charlotte. Metropolitan areas including Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and others have witnessed comparable operations under Trump’s immigration enforcement strategy.
