One of the NFLâs rising stars just reignited one of college footballâs biggest debates.
And according to Seahawks standout Jaxon Smith-Njigba, the answer isnât even close.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba Declares Ohio State âWide Receiver Uâ as NFL Talent Pipeline Grows
Seattle Seahawks star Jaxon Smith-Njigba didnât hesitate when asked about the best college program for producing NFL wide receivers.
In his eyes, the debate is already over.
During media sessions leading up to the Super Bowl, the former Ohio State standout confidently declared that the Buckeyes remain the undisputed âWide Receiver U.â And according to Smith-Njigba, the programâs dominance is only getting stronger.
âItâs a long list, and itâs about to grow even more,â Smith-Njigba said. âI think itâs just too much elite talent from top to bottom.â

For years, college football fans have debated which program deserves the title of producing the best NFL receivers. Schools like LSU, Alabama, and Oklahoma have all made strong cases.
But Ohio Stateâs recent track record is becoming impossible to ignore.
A Pipeline of First-Round Stars
Over the last few seasons, Ohio State has produced a remarkable number of elite wide receiver prospects who have quickly made their mark in the NFL.

Since 2022 alone, five Buckeyes wide receivers have been selected in the first round of the NFL Draft, an astonishing run that few programs can match.
That list includes:
Chris Olave â No. 11 overall pick (2022, New Orleans Saints)
Garrett Wilson â No. 10 overall pick (2022, New York Jets)
Jaxon Smith-Njigba â No. 20 overall pick (2023, Seattle Seahawks)
Marvin Harrison Jr. â No. 4 overall pick (2024, Arizona Cardinals)
Emeka Egbuka â No. 19 overall pick (2025, Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
Each of those players arrived in the NFL with massive expectations â and many have already begun living up to the hype.
For Smith-Njigba, that steady flow of talent proves that Ohio State has built something special.
âWhen you bring it all together and you look at the names and what weâve done, thereâs no question now,â he said.

The Next Superstar May Already Be Coming
And if Smith-Njigba is right, the Buckeyesâ dominance at the position is far from over.
The next name expected to enter the NFL spotlight is Carnell Tate, another Ohio State receiver who declared for the 2026 NFL Draft.
Early projections have Tate rising as high as a top-five overall pick, with some analysts already predicting he could be the first wide receiver selected in the upcoming draft.
If that happens, it would further cement Ohio Stateâs reputation as the ultimate pipeline for elite receivers.
Even Coaching Changes May Not Slow the Machine
Interestingly, Ohio State recently lost a key figure behind its wide receiver development.
Longtime receivers coach and offensive coordinator Brian Hartline, widely credited for helping build the programâs elite talent pipeline, left to take a new role at South Florida.

But Smith-Njigba doesnât believe that change will slow the Buckeyes down.
In his view, the culture of excellence at Ohio State has already been established â and the system now produces elite receivers almost automatically.
The program continues to recruit top-tier athletes, develop them at a high level, and send them straight into the NFL spotlight.
A Growing Legacy
With stars already thriving across the league and more elite prospects entering the draft every year, Ohio Stateâs case for âWide Receiver Uâ continues to grow stronger.

And as Smith-Njigba pointed out, the list of Buckeyes receivers dominating the NFL is only getting longer.
For now, the Seahawks star believes the evidence speaks for itself.
Ohio State isnât just producing great receivers.
It might be producing the best in football â year after year.
