President Trump will promote the US as the defender of Western civilization while denouncing the failures of globalism during his historic Tuesday address to the United Nations General Assembly.
The commander-in-chief, who will deliver his speech to world leaders just before 10 a.m. at the UN’s Manhattan headquarters, plans to tout his efforts to negotiate and keep peace around the world through the return of American strength, a White House official told The Post.
Trump is also expected to decry the pitfalls of globalism — including mass migrations, efforts to combat climate change, and the dangers that globalist ideologies pose to successful nations.

He will also highlight the successes of Operation Midnight Hammer, which saw the US military attack nuclear facilities in Iran and the US’s ongoing airstrikes targeting alleged drug traffickers from Venezuela in the Caribbean, the official said.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio, speaking to Fox and Friends on Tuesday morning, said that Trump must address the UN’s failure to live up to its potential after 80 years of existence.
“Why do we still have a UN that has tremendous potential? The UN is an organization that has the potential to do some great things around the world, but it’s not doing it. So I think what the president is going to do is challenge the UN to define its meaning and its purpose and its utility as an organization,” he said.

He added the international body “doesn’t seem to be doing the job” despite spending lots of money.
“I think it’s emblematic of how feckless the UN has become as an organization,” Rubio said.
The Secretary claimed the UN currently does nothing more than provide a space once a year for representatives from scores of countries to get together and deliver speeches — but nothing ever comes of it.

“Not a lot of good, important action is happening. So again, the UN has a lot of potential, but it’s not living up to it right now.”
