Reporting on the tragic incident, David passed the story to ABC’s Ike Ejiochi, who said, “Tonight, at least two people are dead after a plane packed with relief supplies for hurricane victims in Jamaica slammed into this neighborhood in Coral Springs, Florida.”

On top of images showing the devastation caused by the plane hitting fences in a suburban area, an emergency services call could be heard saying, “We do have a confirmed plane down. It is submerged; it did not hit a home, but it took out part of the fence.”
Taking to the skies, Ralph Rayburn, a helicopter journalist, documented the incident, with debris being seen strewn across one family’s backyard. The wheel of a child’s trike was also visible on the grass.
“Look at the area there, right in the backyard,” Ralph said to viewers, “You can see debris all over the backyard there.” Back to Ike, the ABC journalist explained that the plane was a Beechcraft King Air, which had taken off from Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport at 10:14am. However, mere minutes later, “multiple security cameras captured it slamming into a lake just feet away from multiple homes.”

A witness who saw the plane going down told reporters, “It just took a dive and went straight to the ground,” with Deputy Chief Mike Moser from Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Dept, adding, “Fortunately, the plane did not strike any houses. When it entered the water, it did strike some trees in the backyard of one of the homes.”
The plane was reported to be on a “relief flight bound for Montego Bay” in Jamaica and was packed with supplies for the victims of the recent Hurricane Melissa. Viewers of the show reacted to the devastating news, with one person writing on social media, “Omg my heart literally just broke.”
