Charlie Kirk‘s killer is at large — with cops and the FBI launching a massive manhunt after the MAGA leading light was assassinated at Utah Valley University in Orem on Wednesday afternoon.
Early reports indicated that a suspect was in custody – but police later rolled back those claims and confirmed the shooter was still on the loose.
Kirk, 31, was fatally shot in the neck around after 12:20 p.m. local time Wednesday as he was speaking on campus south of Salt Lake City.

The shooter is believed to have fired a single shot from an elevated position about 200 yards from the tent where Kirk was seated
The university confirmed the gunman shot from a building across the quad.
Chilling footage circulating on social media could support that – moments after the fatal shot was fired, a distinct shape could be seen moving across the building roof as crowds cowered in the courtyard below.
No weapon has been recovered.

The gunman’s suspected shooting position suggests the killing was a calculated and deliberate plot.
Utah Valley University’s campus has been placed on lockdown as law enforcement continues combing the buildings room by room.
