Mayor Eric Adams unveiled his plans for the rest of his term in office now that Zohran Mamdani has been elected — saying Wednesday his goal is to “have so much fun.”
“Number one thing I’m gonna do is I’m gonna have fun. I plan to have so much fun of just enjoying life,” Adams told reporters during an unrelated event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The self-described “nightlife mayor” — who backed ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo in Tuesday’s election — said he was relieved when the results rolled in because it means he can now take a vacation.

“Do you know how good it feels that I don’t have to get up and go about a 12-hour day? That I can spend time with who I want. I can travel again,” the notorious frequent flyer said.
“People don’t know what it’s like being mayor,” he said. “Yes, there’s a lot of glamour in that title, but remember you can’t leave the city or you gonna get beat up.”
Adams is fond of international travel and notoriously got in hot water with the feds over alleged improper flight upgrades from Turkish Airlines to and from Turkey.
A City Hall spokesperson said that the mayor doesn’t have any specific plans on where he may visit first — or whether the first stop would be in Istanbul — but that whatever trip he would take would be on his public calendar.

Shortly after he suspended his independent re-election campaign last month, Adams took a last-minute taxpayer- funded jaunt to Albania in order to “boost economic activity and tourism” to the Big Apple.
When the heated contest was called for Mamdani — the socialist Dem nominee who got about 50% of the vote to independent Cuomo’s 42% and Republican candidate Sliwa’s measly 7% — Adams said he could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
“I was like, now it’s time for someone else to do this,” said Adams, who suspended his campaign in September after having trouble getting double-digit support in the polls.
“I’m just going to have fun,” he said. “This has been good. I’ve been a good and faithful servant for this city for 40 years.”

Adams has teased the public about what his post-mayorality plans are over the last few weeks, saying that he is considering “great offers” and even wanted to get his PHD and work on a book.
He continued to hint at those offers on Election Day, when casting his ballot in Brooklyn, noting that his next chapter may require him to keep his passport up to date.
“Countries are calling me and asking me to come and do what I did in New York City,” he told reporters.
“It’s an amazing opportunity for me, and then I don’t have to deal with you guys man,” he quipped. “I’m finalizing what I’m going to do, but trust me when I tell you I’m going to enjoy every moment of it.”
