President Trump called Wednesday for Iryna Zarutska’s alleged killer, Decarlos Brown Jr., to receive the death penalty for the barbaric butchering of the Ukrainian refugee on a train in Charlotte, NC last month.
“The ANIMAL who so violently killed the beautiful young lady from Ukraine, who came to America searching for peace and safety, should be given a ‘Quick’ (there is no doubt!) Trial, and only awarded THE DEATH PENALTY,” the president declared on Truth Social.

“There can be no other option!!!”
Chilling footage shows Zarutska, 23, being stabbed repeatedly with what appears to be a pocket knife while riding a Lynx Blue Line train on Aug. 22.
Brown, 34, was charged Tuesday with a federal count of committing an act causing death on a mass transportation system. He also faces a state charge of first-degree murder.
Attorney General Pam Bondi has vowed to “seek the maximum penalty for this unforgivable crime” and that the suspect “will never again see the light of day as a free man.”
North Carolina is one of 27 states that still has the death penalty on the books. The Tar Heel State last executed an inmate in 2006, when Samuel Flippen was put to death for the slaughter of his 2-year-old stepdaughter.
Zarutska fled to the US in 2022 after Russia invaded her home country. Her father was unable to attend her funeral due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, The Post previously reported.
The bereaved family reportedly turned down an offer to repatriate Zarutska’s remains, saying she “loved America.”
The brutal murder has sparked a national outcry after it emerged that Brown has been arrested at least 14 times in North Carolina since 2007 for offenses ranging from assault to robbery to illegal firearms possession.

Earlier this year, Brown was arrested after calling police and reporting he was given “man-made material” that controlled his talking, eating and walking, according to court filings.
Cops who responded told Brown they couldn’t help him and he grew irate, calling 911 again with law enforcement still present and prompting his arrest.
Local magistrate Teresa Stokes let him go free on cashless bail two days later after he signed a written promise to show up for his next court date.
Brown’s mother told local TV station WSOC that her son is schizophrenic and should not have been allowed to roam the streets.
Brown’s sister, Tracey, whom he assaulted in 2022, believes he attacked Zarutska because he thought she was reading his mind.
“A person that is hearing voices in their head and believes the world is against them, they’re going to break,” she told CNN. “And I think that night he broke.”
